Guru Padmasambhava also widely known as Gugu Rinpoche was the important figure in Tibetan Buddhism and in Vajrayana Buddhism. Guru Rinpoche is depicted perfectly, he sits on a moon disc on a lotus on a royal posture with the piercing gaze. Guru Padmasambhava wears a beautiful crafted colorful robe and a tantric hat. His right hand holds a Vajra, and his left-hand holds a skull vase filled with immortality nectar.In the curve of his left hand, he holds the Khatvang trident.
For most Himalayan Buddhists, Guru Rinpoche is the second Buddha, the Buddha of all enlightenment forms and teachings, with a focus on the tantras. Tantra teaches us to first see our teachers as Guru Rinpoche, just as the Great Way leads us to see and name our enlightened nature as Buddha-nature.
